“The boss is not in the mood today.”
When I worked at corporates, I’ve heard this a
thousand times.
But I don’t really get it.
Why must the boss’ mood needs to affect the way
people work.
Most of the time, being a boss is by choice.
When the responsibility is given, it’s really up
to the boss to fix his or her own mood.
As a boss, you’re there to support your team.
To create an environment where people feel
inspired to work.
And definitely NOT to create an environment of
fear.
Or people will just say YES to everything.
I don’t really see the point.
Just like Simon Sinek said:
“Leadership is not about being in charge.
Leadership is about taking care of those in your
charge.”
Maybe it’s just me.
But by NOT using my mood as an excuse to run my
company—
I hope it will create a better environment for my
team.
After all, running a social media agency requires
a lot of creativity.
No inspiration, no creativity.
What do you think?
