The first car registered in Perak after WWII using the "A" prefix for Perak vehicles, was likely A 1, which went to C.H. LaBrooy, an Ipoh architect, with the British Military Administration restarting the vehicle registration system in 1945.

The “A” prefix was introduced in regulations before the war. Old plates with the “PK” prefix were allowed to remain in use for some time.

Same thing in Selangor: Old "SL" plates could remain in use even after the "B" prefix was introduced.
