Saya Anak Malaysia

( 1 )
1953
Bulan 5 aku dilahirkan
Di sebuah negeri yang diberi nama
NEGERI SEMBILAN

( 2 )
Selepas itu aku dibesarkan
Di NEGERI KELANTAN
Aku belajar di sekolah orang putih
Dekat dengan Pasir Puteh

Saya Anak Malaysia ( 4X )
( 3 )
Lepas sekolah aku merayau
Negeri mat saleh aku merantau
Tempat orang indah sekali
Tapi MALAYSIA dekat di hati

Saya Anak Malaysia ( 4X )

Sampai masa aku pun balik
Tapi makweku nampak pelik
Dia kata nak jadi apa
Aku kata itu Tuhan punya kuasa

Saya Anak Malaysia ( 4X )
( 4 )
Lemah lembut sopan santun
Sudah menjadi darah dagingku
Walaupun aku nampaknya kutu
Aku hormat orang tuaku
Saya Anak Malaysia ( 4X )
(Ulang 2,3 & 4)

Preserving our nation’s past, one piece at a time
The Star – 5 Aug 2025

ANM's work includes restoration services to ensure fragile documents and old photos endure for generations to come.

WHAT if some of Malaysia’s most significant historical treasures are not stored in a national vault, but lie forgotten in private homes or old photo albums? This is the primary motivation behind the National Archives of Malaysia’s (ANM) new Community Archives programme.

The initiative encourages citizens and communities to actively participate in preserving the nation’s history by contributing significant materials to the agency, which is responsible for managing Malaysia’s heritage documents and records.

The programme was launched in Klang in partnership with the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK), serving as a clarion call for the public to enrich the national archives with their unique historical collections. The ANM team was present to provide basic restoration services for cherished paper-based items such as certificates. They also demonstrated how proper care and digitisation can ensure the historical pieces endure for generations to come.

“This Community Archives programme will be expanded by ANM across the country to reach out to individuals, families, prominent figures, organisations and communities that possess historically valuable collections,” said National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang in his speech during the launch.

“The public is encouraged to contribute their personal collections to ANM to help complete the existing archive and fill gaps in historical information.”

Aaron also unveiled ANM’s Community Archives Kit during the launch in May at Galeri Warisan at MBDK branch office in Jalan Tengku Kelana, Klang.

Fresh Graduates and Challenges

Challenges Faced by Fresh Graduates—especially in Malaysia and globally—are increasingly complex due to evolving job markets, technological disruption, and shifting employer expectations. Here's a comprehensive look at the key hurdles:

Top Challenges for Graduates

Challenge

Description

1. Limited Entry-Level Jobs

Many companies reduce roles for fresh grads, leading to intense competition.

2. Experience Paradox

Jobs require experience, but grads need jobs to gain experience—a classic catch-22.

3. Skills Mismatch

Graduates often lack industry-relevant skills, especially in tech and AI-driven sectors.

4. High Competition

Popular industries like finance, tech, and media attract many applicants, making it harder to stand out.

5. Unrealistic Expectations

Many expect instant success or dream jobs, but reality demands persistence and adaptability.

6. Poor Financial Literacy

Graduates often struggle with budgeting, saving, and managing income post-graduation.

7. Weak Networking Skills

Building professional connections is crucial but challenging for introverts or those unfamiliar with industry norms.

8. Overreliance on Degrees

Employers prioritize practical skills and problem-solving over academic credentials alone.

9. Narrow Job Focus

Sticking strictly to one’s field of study can limit opportunities in a fast-evolving job market.

10. Lack of Digital Presence

Not leveraging platforms like LinkedIn can reduce visibility to recruiters and employers.

How to Overcome These Challenges

  • Upskill continuously: Take short courses in high-demand areas like data analytics, AI, or digital marketing.
  • Gain experience: Internships, freelance gigs, and volunteering help build your portfolio.
  • Network smartly: Attend job fairs, join industry groups, and connect with mentors.
  • Customize applications: Tailor your resume and cover letter for each job using relevant keywords.
  • Stay adaptable: Be open to roles outside your major or comfort zone.
  • Build a strong online presence: Create a professional online profile and showcase your skills and experience
  • Manage Finances: Develop a budget and explore options for managing loan debt
  • Seek Support: Connect with your career service at your university or utilize online resources for job search advice.

Perpustakaan Terawal Muzium Perak Tahun 1886

KOLEKSI KATALOG

PERPUSTAKAAN TERAWAL MUZIUM PERAK TAHUN 1886
